What is Extra-Life?
Extra-Life is a non-profit charity created for gamers to help raise money to heal kids.
907 Gamer’s has created a team on Extra-Life.org. If you donate to this cause, you’ll be supporting LOCAL kids and their families. Kids right in your own backyard. Our team is on a mission to save kids through video games, and we need your help. Each of us has chosen our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital (Providence Hospital for example) where thousands of children are treated each year, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.
On October 25th, 2014, we’ll be part of a huge international celebration of the social impact of gamers with Extra Life and it’s our sincere hope that you’ll find it in your heart to support us with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to that team member’s chosen hospital. Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids. Last year, Extra Life raised more than 4 million dollars to save kids, but this year the goal is even higher.
Do you want to have more fun than you can handle while helping some of the bravest (and smallest) warriors in your community? All you have to do is:
- Create a profile on Extra-Life.org and join the 907 Gamer’s team.
- Try to get four friends or family members to sponsor you at $1 per hour ($24 each).
- Sit on your rear end and play all types of games for 24 hours. We will be putting in our game play on Saturday, October 25th, beginning at 8 a.m.
If this sounds like a little too involved and you’d like to just make a donation, feel free support me as a participant on Extra Life.
907 Gamer’s will be having a gaming marathon with Extra Life sometime around October 25th. Details are still being worked out but this page will be updated when planning phase is complete.
